Bon Weekend

It's Good Friday, the sun is shining, and the temperature has cracked 50 degrees so I've decided to take the day off. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Book Buzz, Outtakes and Signing Reminder

Only one more week until my book Creativity at Work is released!  Woo hoo! I've slowly been giving out my personal copies to those featured in it and I gave interior designer Bunny Williams a copy before I left for High Point.  It means the world to me that not only did she love the book but also ordered it for her store Treillage. I can't wait to walk down the street and see it on display.  She also posted some photos from it on her blog Bunny's Buzz but I thought you might want to see some outtakes too.  I took hundreds of photos of each subject but only 10-15 made it into the book which made choosing very difficult. 

Big thanks to W magazine for choosing Creativity at Work as one of the best new art and fashion books for fall 2012!  

I also want to remind you that I have another advance book signing at Archivia this Sunday.  The book won't be released until October 30th so you have a chance to snag a copy a few days early. Be there or be square!

It's Back Again!

It's back!  The Fall/Winter 2012 issue of Domino is on newsstands now.  I am also honored to be included in it as part of Domino's Style Council.  The group includes designers, architects, and stylists including Bunny Williams, Steven Gambrel, Jonathan Adler, Nathan Turner, and more who weigh in with advice on what makes a house a home. It also includes more unseen photos than the first issue so definitely check it out!

A Tribute to Albert

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House this year isn't all green.  Bunny Williams, Brian J. McCarthy, and David Kleinberg, all former employees of Albert Hadley, collaborated on a fabulous Venetian plastered white living room punctuated with pops of red.  There are also a few mementos from Mr. Hadley including his "Don't Forget" memo pads and ever present Camel Lights and famous hooked zebra rug. I'm sure he is loving it. 

The Le Corbusier tapestry is from the Jane Kahan Gallery. 

Other artwork was borrowed from Gerald Bland.

Albert Hadley's famous notepads and cigarettes.  And no, I don't advocate smoking but he did it up until he was 91.

Bunny Williams, BeeLine Home & Belgium

There are a lot of nice decorators but I think the nicest of them all has to be Bunny Williams.  She always has a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.  I love visiting her BeeLine Home showroom in High Point since she completely redecorates it for each market.  This time, the palette was lighter and soothing which made her colorful Column Tables catch my attention.  I love the red and green but even the finished wood is pretty chic.

If you're in the mood for something not so new, I would check out Bunny's Belgium sale on One Kings Lane Wednesday, November 2nd.  She traveled to Brussels and Antwerp with OKL co-founder Susan Feldman where they found beautiful furniture, porcelain and linens among other things.  I'm going to see how I can get myself invited on Bunny's next trip! Happy Shopping!
