Up at the Villa

All the talk of the shows in Milan for the past few days has me dreaming of Italy again.  I'm trying to figure out if I can fit in a trip between High Point and the launch of my book.  Not sure if it's going to happen but I'm putting Villa Cetinale on the list just in case. I think their description sums it up best.

"Villa Cetinale is a 17th century villa in the Ancaiano district near Siena, Italy. Designed by the architect Carlo Fontana, in the Roman Baroque style, the villa was built in 1680 by Cardinal Flavio Chigi for Pope Alexander VII — Fabio Chigi. The gardens at Villa Cetinale are renowned as being amongst the most beautiful in Italy. Within easy reach of Florence, Siena, Pisa, Rome, Villa Cetinale is ideally situated for sightseeing, shopping, eating out or just relaxing in the beautiful Tuscan landscape."

It's bellissimo.  Sigh.

Je suis fatiguée

Not gonna lie.  I'm tired.  Last night at 10pm when I realized that I could write a blog post or go to bed, I chose bed.  All I can think about is where I want to go and relax once the book goes to final print. I'm dreaming of Italy but not sure.  This is where you come in.  I'm usually the one doing all the work here, but thought it might be nice to ask you for your suggestions.  Where should I go?

Oscar's Island Oasis Part Deux

I figured why not continue on with warm weather and turquoise blue water.  It's the only thing getting me through these cold and snowy days.  I posted photos of Oscar de la Renta's Punta Cana home in the Dominican Republic over a year ago here.  Since then, he's done a little redecorating and I've found some new images.  I'm going to close my eyes and pretend I'm sitting on that porch sipping an iced Presidente beer.  Sigh.
