Puttin' on the Ritz

I flew to Chicago for a meeting Sunday afternoon and instead of connecting to the wifi and doing work, I relaxed and read my new magazines.  One of my favorite spreads in the April issue of Vogue featured Kate Moss in the Hôtel Ritz in Paris.  It was shot by photographer Tim Walker who is known for creating fantasy photos and this feature is no different.  I found a few of the images on his website but it's definitely worth picking up the issue for the full story.  The Ritz is closing for renovations so Vogue took the opportunity to have fun just like they did at The Plaza with Sarah Jessica Parker before it also closed for renovations. I'm hoping in this case that the Ritz doesn't change its iconic decor too much.  I've always dreamed of staying at the fabled hotel and I want it to look just like these photos.  Anyone know where I can find some pink bubble bath?

The Fashion Royal Wedding

It may not have been held in Westminster Abbey but the wedding of Kate Moss to Jamie Hince was no less royal.  They had the same photographer, Mario Testino, but unlike the other Kate, this one made the cover of the coveted September issue of Vogue.  It was a surprisingly elegant affair which was Kate's plan according to her mum, “Kate wanted something elegant—not what people thought she might do.”  All of fashion royalty attended including Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney and Naomi Campbell among others.  Looks like brides everywhere will have beautiful new inspiration for their upcoming nuptials. Kate Moss Holiday Collection for Top Shop

One of my favorite things to do when I go to London is to visit Top Shop. If you've ever been there, you'll know why. It's the most fabulous store, chock full of spot on trends at inexpensive prices and amazing vintage clothes as well. There are rumblings about a store opening up in New York but no confirmed report as of yet. Too bad since Kate Moss has just unveiled her new holiday collection.

Barney's had a small selection from her first collection that sold out in about 30 seconds so I'll keep my fingers crossed that they get the holiday clothes. They're a little seventies disco era looking but also completely modern with a little Deco thrown in for good measure. If Barney's doesn't carry them, I might have to hop across the pond for a little shopping!
