Italian Portraits

I realized that most of my posts lately have been a little feminine side so I thought I'd post a little something for my male readers.  Although, I do realize that the ladies will also enjoy it.  I don't want to be accused of being sexist again.  (It's always something.)  Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal mentioned that Tods has published a follow up to their first book Italian Touch called Italian Portraits.  It highlights some of the best dressed men in Italy and just as many well dressed interiors.  When I started looking for more photos, I noticed that my friend Blue Carreon just posted about the book on his site Style Intel so I'm borrowing some of his images. 

I can always spot an Italian man in New York because he's usually wearing colored pants and a luxurious cashmere sweater.  Unlike most American men who wear baggy over sized apparel, his clothes will be tailored to perfection and fit like a glove. He's usually pretty darn handsome too.  Now I'm excited to have a book full of them in Italian Portraits.  Ciao!

It's Getting Hot in Here

The models at the Nautica Men's Spring 2013 presentation on Friday were hot, literally and figuratively.  The roof of the Empire Hotel created a great backdrop but the poor boys in the coats were sweating in the 80+ degree temperatures.  We were grateful for their steely professionalism because the show was great.  It was "inspired by the vibrant colors of the open seas".  Underwater prints and patterns...and performance fabrications that are essential to Nautica's signature nautical style of of updated classics.  "A fresh look for Spring, on or off the boat."  I'll take a man wearing Nautica any day whether on the seas or dry land.

Be Cool Man

I had a lovely brunch date today with everyone's favorite comedic Canadian interior designer, Tommy Smythe.  Afterward, we perused the vintage offerings at the Garage Flea Market where we found a lot of amazing items that would have perfect for a bachelor pad project.  Maybe that's the reason I felt like posting a little more for the boys.  Who am I kidding, I'm sure the ladies enjoy these posts just as much as the men.  You're all welcome.
