One of the things that I really loved about the room was the great attention to detail. I appreciate when designers of Show House rooms take the time to add in items that are used by the mysterious owner like the Mrs. John L. Strong stationery and pencils seen on the desk.

Chic Advertising
I think it's funny that Sophia Coppola's line for Louis Vuitton debuted in March of last year and I'm just now noticing the advertising! I've seen a few images here and there and just found all the rest. I love how they don't hit you over the head with the product. I wish all advertisements were this subtle and seductive. Even though everyone always thinks New Yorkers only wear black, I actually don't own a black handbag so I am eyeing the black SC duffel bag. Sophia said she wanted to design a day bag that was "chic, discreet and lightweight and that isn't enormous," adding that "it is hard to find bag without a lot of hardware." And unlike Viviana Volpicella, some of can't fit all our stuff into a clutch in the daytime! Bon Weekend!Photos from Louis Vuitton and Modern Traditionalist

Big Window Challenge
My friends and I often joke about different stores in New York where we would love to live. Bloomingdale's is usually not on that list but that was before Eddie Ross got his hands on their windows! In case you haven't heard, Bloomingdale's is sponsoring a Big Window Challenge and Eddie has been tapped to decorate the window for ELLE DECOR. Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan is of course designing the window for Apartment Therapy and Eileen Joyce is working on the window for Bloomingdale’s. The windows will up until January 28, 2010 and you can read more about them and vote for your favorite online. Eddie's windows seen here were inspired the modern woman who loves to travel and entertain. Sounds right up my alley! Wonder if they'd notice if I moved in!Wednesday, January 20, 2010
Hamptons Hideaway
A Fashionable Life is my favorite feature in Harper’s Bazaar but since they are a fashion magazine and not a shelter magazine, the actual home photos tend to be a little on the small side. They also don't publish all the rooms or show enough details to satisfy my curiosity. One home that I hope to see published again is the Hamptons home of Tim and Helen Lee Schifter. For a couple that gets dressed up a lot for events, I was pleasantly surprised at it's simplicity and quiet elegance. I really wish there was a better photo of the living room online because I bet it's even more fabulous than what little glimpse was shown in Bazaar! I am also now dying to see inside their New York apartment! Hint hint!
