Fab Finds for the Home

As I’ve mentioned before, I love shopping on Fab because you really can find everything you could ever want all in one place.  When they asked me to curate another post, I thought it might be fun to highlight some of their home items.  As we approach the Passover and Easter holidays, you might want to think about getting your dining room ready for guests.

One of the hardest parts of living in New York is that almost all of us rent.  That means that maybe you get to paint if you are lucky but wallpaper is out of the question…until now. This Chevron Wallpaper from Swag Paper above is “repositionable, removable, and reusable” which is remarkable.  If anyone needs me this weekend, I might be “wallpapering” my entry hall.

Fab has so many different styles of rugs that you could find one for every room of your home.  I particularly love how the wavy circles of the Millennium Patriot Blue Rug contrast with the geometric wallpaper. It also reminds me of an Elliott Puckette painting. They have a lot of flat weave patterned rug too.

If you are planning a dinner party, you’ll need something to sit on.  This Maui Armless Chair from Kartell would add a bright pop of color to any room.  Fab is also having a huge Kartell Sale which includes Ghost Chairs and other iconic designs.

Unfortunately, this teak table is no longer available but it’s a great example of some of the vintage furniture you might find on Fab.

I’m not always a fan of posters as art but I’m loving the vintage inspired city posters by Anderson Design Group. In addition to this San Francisco Trolley Poster, they also have quite a few posters of other cities and areas in the US and abroad.

It feels like spring is never coming to New York since it keeps snowing.  This Bay Stripes 16Piece Tableware Set by Gibson would be cheerful to use on the greyest of days as well as when sunny spring finally arrives.

These Zeno Rocks Glasses in the orange hue would also add another pop of color to the table.  I think they’d be great for water or wine. I always feel like I’m going to knock over any stemmed glass at dinner so the lower the better for me. Oh, and at $11 for 8 glasses, they are an amazing deal!

As I stated earlier, Fab really does offer everything including the actual fixings for dinner.  The Roast Chicken Kit with truffle butter sounds yummy and you wouldn’t even have to leave the house to go pick it up!

Please keep in mind that some of the items on Fab are available for a limited time so if you like something, you might want to act quickly.

In the interest of full disclosure, I worked with Fab on this post but the items were chosen solely by me and the opinions expressed are my own.   It is sponsors like Fab that allow me to continue to bring you Habitually Chic everyday. Thanks!

Fab Finds

In an age when there are a million online shops and flash sale sites, I love that Fab is a fabulous destination for one stop shopping. They have vintage and new products for men, women, children, pets, your home...you name it, they've got it.  These are just a few of my new favorite Fab finds.

As someone who wears pearl earrings every day, I think it might be time for a change.  I’m loving these jasper druzy stone earrings set in gold above.  They also coordinate with all my grey winter clothes.

I recently found a vintage zebra rug for my apartment but a great alternative is this 100% cowhide zebra rug.  It probably doesn’t shed as bad as mine does too.

I haven’t bought a new desk calendar yet for 2013 and this Rifle Paper Botanical Desk Calendar looks like a perfect choice.  Anna Bond’s illustrations are always chic and cheerful.

One of the best categories on Fab is the tech gadgets. I don’t love conference calls so how fun would it be to talk on this iCooly Handsetwhile being able to scroll through instagram and twitter at the same time.

I’ve heard many bloggers wish they could own a Cy Twombly.  Since most of us will never actually be able to afford one, this lithograph of Crimes of Passion II would be a perfect alternative. You don’t even have to tell anyone it’s not an original,
I joke that I am almost run over by a Razr scooter every day on the Upper East Side.  I might be less upset about it if the child was riding this vintage handmade folk art scooter in its original orange paint.

How funny would it be to give your favorite digital photographer this tee shirt celebrating old school The Fotomat. I kind of want one for myself!

Have a Fab day!

Sponsor Spotlight: Fab Holiday Shop

Usually items on Fab come and go quickly but the chicly curated items in their Fab Holiday Shop will be available until December 31st.  They were kind enough to ask me to pick out some gifts for the people on my list this year.  Maybe my choices will help you pick out a few last minute presents for your friends and family.

I thought a pair of the Fab Industrial Wire Pendants above would be perfect for my friends who just moved into a new Brooklyn apartment.

I know a chic little kid on the Upper East Side who would appreciate this Eames Elephant.  Heck, I know a few adults who would love it too!

I have a feeling that my Diet Coke addicted friends would love this Gold Soda Can Bank.  I might have to get one for myself too!

The original present I picked out for my dad was a fun mustache mug that sold out right away.  My next option is to get his old school music library downloaded onto an iPod and then buy him this Geneva XS Speaker so he can listen to music anywhere in the house.

My mom loved anything furry so this Icelandic Sheepskin would be perfect for her and her little dogs too.

And last but not least, I think I deserve a present.  I've been in love with this George Nelson Tripod Clock since I first saw it in Domino magazine many years ago.  If anyone would like to slip this into my stocking, I would be completely amenable to that idea.

Happy Holidays!
