August

"The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its tuning.  The weeks that come before are only a climb from the balmy spring, and those that follow a drop to the chill of autumn, but the first week of August is motionless, and hot.  It is curiously silent, too, with blank white dawns and glaring noons, and sunsets smeared with too much color.  Often at night there is lightening, but it quivers all alone."

Sweet August

Fairest of the months!
Ripe summer's queen
The hey-day of the year
With robes that gleam with sunny sheen
Sweet August doth appear.

Miles Blue, I Mean Redd

August marks the first full issue of Town & Country with Stephen Drucker at the helm and it looks like he's already off to a great start. Included in the issue is a fabulous, I mean ridiculously fabulous home that New York interior designer Miles Redd designed in Atlanta. These are just three of my favorite photos from the spread. I am dying over all the gorgeous shades of blue. If he keeps this up, he might have to change his name to Miles Blue instead of Redd! Definitely pick up a copy today!
