Alpha Mayle

I was excited to read on Refinery 29 this morning that Jane Mayle is collaborating on a five piece bag collection for Club Monaco. The fashion flock will be rejoicing for sure. This also is the perfect opportunity to look at some old and new photos of her West Village apartment.

The five Mayle bags will be priced from $195 to $595 and will be available in Club Monaco stores and online beginning on October 3, 2012.

Remember this famous photo of her shelves from the September 2007 issue of Domino?

What I Wore

Yesterday was my last full day of fashion week and I decided to go out with a bang. I wore a black dress to the Harper's Bazaar breakfast but when everyone else went off to Michael Kors show, I decided to go shopping for a new afternoon outfit.  I headed over to the J.Crew Collection store on Madison Avenue at 66th Street, my home away from home. I found a bunch a great things but decided on these green brocade pants.  The outfit I threw together was very different for me but fashion week is definitely not the time to be a wallflower.

Collection Cafe Capri Pants in Jade Jacquard - After buying these pants, I ran home and stitch witcheried the hem which my tailor is going to have to now fix.  For day they looked good with the blue shirt and I also bought a black cashmere crewneck to wear with them with it gets cooler.  I also plan to wear them to Amanda Nisbet's book party next week with a black blouse and tuxedo jacket and heels.

French Blue Susan Shirt from Club Monaco - I never met a blue shirt I didn't like and this one is baby soft and relaxed.

J.Crew Leopard Calf Hair Belt - I would never wear a leopard belt with jacquard pants usually but it seemed appropriate for fashion week to step outside my comfort zone.

Roger Vivier Thong Sandals - My feet could not do heels one more day so I wore my favorite flat sandals.  The best thing about the shows in September is that everyone is wearing flat sandals. Many of you asked about these sandals the last time I posted them.  They aren't online but if you call one of the stores, they can help you.

Hermes Birkin - My bag was purchased vintage from an estate sale.

Tassle Necklace - I made this myself with a tassle from a vintage necklace and another long chain I had in my jewelry box.

Lanvin Bracelets - I bought these in Paris years ago.  I wish they made they again because everyone loves them.

The Branch Green Ring - Green, gold and wood that I bought at Treillage always garners compliments.

Lookmatic Glasses - I worse glasses to hide the bags under my eyes.

Estee Lauder Violet Electra Lipstick - Nothing like a bright lipstick to make you look and feel more alive.

If you're a long time reader, you know this is the way I like to post my outfits.  Some of you keep asking me to take photos of me wearing the outfits.  I'm not a fashion blogger nor do I want to compete with girls who are 22 or a size 2 so please stop asking me.

Club Monaco Preview & Exciting News

The warmer weather in New York has me dying for the new fall fashions I previewed at Club Monaco last week.  The lovely green shades and stripes had me at hello and will start arriving in stores in July. The rest will continue into August and September.  The most exciting thing I learned is that Club Monaco will finally launch e-commerce in the US on March 26th.  Apparently if you are a fan on Facebook, you can shop early on March 23rd.  Canadian shoppers won't be left out either.  E-commerce beings to Canada on April 11th.  Happy Shopping!

They are very lucky that this dress didn't end up in my bag.  Love it!

Also dying for this color blocked shirtdress!

Also want this embroidered belt for men that will available around Father's Day.

Club Monaco Culture Club

My love of Club Monaco is no secret. I always love their great dresses and jackets and shop them every season.  Of course, this meant it was an even bigger honor to be asked to be the the featured contributor to their Culture Club tumblr page for the month of February!  Only two posts are up so far but I have lots of treats up my sleeve especially  involving fashion week and the dreaded Valentine's Day.  I was actually asked out on a Valentine's Day date today so things are already looking up and we're only a few days into the month!  Hooray!

Club Monaco at Shopbop

Club Monaco is one of my favorite retailers in New York.  I always know I can find great clothing and accessories that don't scream where I bought them.  I would always feel bad about posting my favorite pieces on Habitually Chic though because not many of my readers have access to their stores but all that has changed today.  Shopbop has partnered with Club Monaco to offer their fabulous fall collection for sale online.  I attended the launch party last night and am already eyeing that plaid coat above.  It would be perfect for the cooler temperatures today.  I'll leave the over the knee socks to you tall skinny girls! Happy Shopping!

Similar Style

I saw this Samuel Weekender bag from Club Monaco on Vogue's Most Wanted feature today and thought it looked a little familiar. It has a similar style to the Hermes Plume bag but costs a couple thousand dollars less. If you buy it, you can use the money you saved on a trip to Paris! Bon voyage!
