Lele Sadoughi Jewelry

I was introduced to Lele Sadoughi Jewelry recently through Moda Operandi.  The designer of the line Lisa "Lele" Sadoughi started the J.Crew jewelry line in 2006 and is currently the Design Director at Tory Burch so she's got quite the pedigree. What I love most is that the prices aren't crazy expensive. I pre-prdered a fall 2013 bracelet on Moda Operandi but it won't arrive until July or August so I did what any immediate gratification seeking fashionista would do, I went to her website to see what I could buy now.  The Scepter Necklace I ordered this weekend arrived today and it will perfectly coordinate with the Milky Way bracelet when it arrives later this summer.  She also has lots of colorful pieces perfect for summer.

The black and white Scepter Necklace that just arrived. I look forward to wearing it with my black and white summer dresses and all my grey dresses this winter. 

The black Milky Way bracelet I pre-ordered for fall from Moda Operandi that will arrive in July or August. It should be available on Lele's site later this summer. 

The white Milky Way bracelet I will be ordering from Lele Sadoughi when it's available on her site.  It will look perfect with all my white summer dresses.

Back in Stock

As many of you discovered recently, my book Creativity at Work was out of stock online and in many stores.  I am happy to announce that the second printing arrived in the warehouse and Amazon and other sites now have it back in stock.  Now that we have more books, I can also start scheduling more book signings.  Once they are confirmed, I will announce them.

Inspiration is Everywhere

I sometimes go to stores not just for shopping but for inspiration.  Often the paint colors and decoration borrow from home design so it makes sense. The new Chloe store in Soho is one of my new inspiring stores.  The pale grey exterior had me at hello but the brass rails, shelves, and light fixtures make me wish I had more room in my apartment. The pale colors of the clothes could not only fill your closet but inspire a neutral paint palette.  If you look hard enough, you will see that inspiration is everywhere.

Meet Manolo

Morning meetings mess me up.  It's usually the time I return emails and work on blog posts which is why I don't schedule them.  Since I'm behind on everything from one earlier today, I am posting a repeat post but it's from October 2010 and relevant for what's going on in New York this week. Not only can you see shoe designer Manolo Blahnik at his beautiful Georgian house in Bath, England by Ivan Terestchecnko here but you can meet him in person tomorrow at Bergdorf Goodman.  (For those of you who receive the email subscription, that means today.)  I've been looking for a pair of pointy toe pumps which are all the rage so I think I might have to stop by too.  See you there!

Ancient Greek Sandals

Seems we have the Greeks to thank for the Olympics and really chic sandals.  I saw the photo above of store owner Tiina Laakkonen on the Tory Burch Blog and loved her sandals.  Turns out they are the Iphigenia sandal from Ancient Greek Sandals and Michelle Williams is also a fan. Sandals weather may be almost over but I think I might stock up on a few pairs for next summer.  Opa!

I can't believe this is only the second season for Chance.  It just feels like it's been around forever.  After popping up on Elizabeth Street last summer, they've moved on up to the east side to reside in Barneys in New York for the summer as well as in Barneys in Beverly Hills. The first collection took its cues from France and felt a little European.  The second season has Chance taking a trip to California.  Founder and creative director Julia Leach is always traveling back and forth to the Golden State so it makes perfect sense that it would inspire her. 

Julia is always inspiring me as well.  I love that in a sea of get famous as fast as you can people and brands, she continues to grow Chance slowly and thoughtfully. Eventually there will be a men's collection and cashmere but only when the time is right. And right now, it's time to enjoy Chance in Barneys.  The pop up will remain on the 8th floor of Co-op for about three weeks when it will be moved to a regular display.

In addition to the classic striped tees for which Chance is famous, you can also pick up beach towels and bags. The bags feature the symbol for water in a choice of three colors and come with a little towel.  Perfect for a day at the beach.

This makes me wish I was at the beach instead of grey and gloomy New York.
