Chic Celine

One of my readers emailed me for advice on choosing a new bag.  She was trying to decide between a Celine Phantom tote and a YSL Muse bag. I told her that I think Celine bags have become a new classic and it would stay in style longer. As you can see from these examples, they are pretty chic. I've just started to use my new red Celine Phantom bag and look forward to carrying it for many years to come...or at least until I get another Celine.

Parisian Promenade

All the tweets and photos from Paris Fashion Week have me itching for a trip to the City of Lights. If tax time wasn't coming up (what's a refund?) I'd be on an Air France flight tomorrow.  Since I'm stuck in the City that Never Sleeps which is also currently freezing, I'll make do by watching the Moynat Parisian Promenade video on Nowness.  I'm sure if I rode the Moynat bicycle around Paris, I'd be smooshed by a Citroën in a second but blogger Jeanne Damas makes it look très chic. Le sigh.

You Can't Win If You Don't Play

On Valentine's Day, I won this amazing red Celine Phantom bag from Vaunte.  I never win anything and I still can't believe I won a Celine bag.  I'm not telling you this to gloat but to remind you that you can't win if you don't play.  A good reminder for contests and life!

James Nares for Coach Totes

Long time readers will remember my affinity for the work of artist James Nares.  I first wrote about him in 2007 and again last year.  So when Coach asked if I would like to visit his studio and see the new limited edition bags he designed for them, I immediately asked when and where. I've dreamed of the day when I can afford one of paintings and now I can. The new James Nares for Coach totes are created from one long piece of heavy canvas so his signature brush stroke paintings are not broken up by a two seams.  The short leather handles are stamped with his name but there is also a convenient shoulder strap.  The hardest part will be choosing one of the five colors and deciding whether you actually want to use it or just hang it up and look at it.  I think might need to buy two.
