Lele Sadoughi Jewelry

I was introduced to Lele Sadoughi Jewelry recently through Moda Operandi.  The designer of the line Lisa "Lele" Sadoughi started the J.Crew jewelry line in 2006 and is currently the Design Director at Tory Burch so she's got quite the pedigree. What I love most is that the prices aren't crazy expensive. I pre-prdered a fall 2013 bracelet on Moda Operandi but it won't arrive until July or August so I did what any immediate gratification seeking fashionista would do, I went to her website to see what I could buy now.  The Scepter Necklace I ordered this weekend arrived today and it will perfectly coordinate with the Milky Way bracelet when it arrives later this summer.  She also has lots of colorful pieces perfect for summer.

Lotus and Scarab Necklace

The black and white Scepter Necklace that just arrived. I look forward to wearing it with my black and white summer dresses and all my grey dresses this winter. 

The black Milky Way bracelet I pre-ordered for fall from Moda Operandi that will arrive in July or August. It should be available on Lele's site later this summer. 

The white Milky Way bracelet I will be ordering from Lele Sadoughi when it's available on her site.  It will look perfect with all my white summer dresses.

Elegant Elsa

I bet some people don't even realize that Elsa Peretti is a real person and that she's still designing her eponymous collection for Tiffany & Co. She began her career as a model before branching out into jewelry design.  There is a great new interview with the Italian designer in the new issue of Time Style & Design magazine on newsstands and online here. She's been designing for Tiffany & Co. since 1974 and just signed a 20 year contract at the age of 72. I hope I'm still going strong at that age!

More is More

One of the most special things I was able to do on my recent trip to Los Angeles was visit Tony Duquette's legendary home Dawnridge and meet Hutton Wilkinson.  The timing couldn't have been more perfect since the Tony Duquette for Coach collection was just launching with parties while I was in town. For those of you who don't know, Hutton Wilkinson started working for Tony Duquette in 1971 and after the designer's death in 1999, he has been keeping his designs and legacy alive.  When the first Tony Duquette book was released in 2007, Bergdorf Goodman dedicated their holiday windows to the designer and I remember attending the book party.  Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine that I would eventually visit Dawnridge in person. Just another one of those pinch me moments that have come about because of my blog.  

While there, my friend and I noticed a more modern house next door that seemed to be connected to Dawnridge but I forgot to ask about it.  Fast forward to the March issue of Harper's Bazaar where I found out that it's Hutton Wilkinson's new house that he shares with his wife of 35 years, Ruth.  He says it's his most personal design and full of over the top detail, gorgeous colors, and lots of gold. The photos make the perfect juxtaposition to some of the new pieces from the Tony Duquette for Coach collection.  Just another example of how art, design, fashion, and jewelry can inspire each other. And maybe if I keep dreaming, someone will buy me that fabulous malachite ring for my birthday.  Hint, hint.

Gold Standard

I've never met anything gold and shiny that I didn't like, including all the furniture and decorative accents in this Parisian apartment. It is owned by Delfina Delettrez whose mother is Silvia Venturini Fendi, one of those fabulous fashion Fendis.  Looks like chicness runs in the family and her taste in antiques is perfect for the Sixth Arrondissement apartment on the Place de Furstenberg, one of the most beautiful areas in the city. While her mother designs bags, this Fendi fille designs jewelry and of course uses lots of gold. Maybe she's inspired by her apartment.  I know I sure am.

NYFW Spring 2012: Fenton at The Four Seasons

I was familiar with the Fenton and Fallon jewelry lines but it was Twitter that personally introduced me to the designer behind them, Dana Lorenz.  Her impeccable taste and style was on full display at her Spring 2012 presentation for the Fenton collection at The Four Seasons restaurant on Friday.  It was the perfect chic backdrop for the unbelievably gorgeous new pieces full of pastel shades and strong shapes. The inspiration started with artwork of Cecily Brown and continued to the colors and curves of the Art Deco architecture of Miami.  The models dressed in ivory ensembles gave life to the jewelry unlike most jewelry press previews.  Also gave me an idea of how some of those fabulous necklaces might look on me next spring.  Wonder if Dana offers a Twitter followers discount!
