The Chic Family

Make sure you pick up the December/January issue of Harper's Bazaar.  It's chock full of fabulous fashion and a look inside Patricia Herrera Lansing's New York apartment. You can also read the entire story here. I can't decide what I want more now, a ball gown or a teepee!

Herrera in the Hamptons

Summer in New York is all about getting out of town.  Patricia Herrera Lansing and her family head out to a lovely Guy Lowell designed house from 1914. Technically, it's not the Hamptons but "Herrera on the North Shore" didn't quite have the same ring. It was featured in Elle Decor in October 2010 and is also in my files for my future house on Long Island.

The sofas are from Mecox Gardens, my favorite place to shop in the Hamptons.

I always think even summer houses need one dark room for watching television or movies on a rainy day. The photo is by Roe Ethridge.

The sunroom features Crate & Barrel sofas and Lulu DK fabric tablecloth.

I always associate hydrangea with the Hamptons, and the now the North Fork in this case.

At Home with Another Herrera

Some people's homes get featured a million times and others seem to sit quietly under the radar.  The latter is why I was very excited to see Patricia Herrera Lansing's apartment featured on APT with LSD on Vogue.com.  In case you don't know, Patricia is the daughter of my style idol Carolina Herrera.  The chicness doesn't fall far from the tree here.  I love how she and her husband have not only transformed his former bachelor pad into a family home, but have incorporated contemporary art and photography into the mix.  I also love the playroom and family photos displayed behind the breakfast table.  Now only if some magazine would feature her mother's townhouse again.  Bon Weekend!
