Pretty in Pink

Long time readers will remember my aversion to pink.  After growing up in a pink bedroom, I can't even imagine ever living with the color again.  But just because it's not right for me doesn't mean I can't appreciate it in someone else's home.  I don't know journalist Alina Cho but I often see her at fashion week and events here in New York. I think I also saw her shopping in Barneys one day. In the midst of all the kooky outfits and bum grazing mini skirts, I always appreciate her ladylike style.  That's not to say that she dresses boring. She's often wearing something fabulous and colorful to stand out on camera.  It seems that her fashion style sensibility extends to her own midtown apartment that she worked on with interior designer Bibi Monnahan.  While it's full of classic pieces, they are upholstered in bold fabrics that stand out against the pink walls.  The whole thing is topped off with her enviable art collection.  It's definitely worth rethinking my stand on pink.

Loving Lake Bell

I've always thought Lake Bell had great personal style but now we get to see that she also has great eye for design.  Probably helps that her mother, Robin Bell, is an interior designer but the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  Thanks to APT by LSD today on Vogue, we get to peek into her West Hollywood home.  The architecture is quintessential California, especially the bathroom, but she's filled it with pieces from around the globe.  For the full story and all the details, click here.  Enjoy!

Apartment with Art

I'm a bit under the weather and preparing for a magazine photo shoot in my apartment on Thursday.  Good times.  But this apartment full of amazing art featured on APT by LSD on Vogue.com today made me feel a little better.  It's owned by Kyle DeWoody whose mother is uber major art collector Beth Rudin DeWoody so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  Also reminds me that I have a few new paintings to hang before the shoot.  It's always something.

At Home with Another Herrera

Some people's homes get featured a million times and others seem to sit quietly under the radar.  The latter is why I was very excited to see Patricia Herrera Lansing's apartment featured on APT with LSD on Vogue.com.  In case you don't know, Patricia is the daughter of my style idol Carolina Herrera.  The chicness doesn't fall far from the tree here.  I love how she and her husband have not only transformed his former bachelor pad into a family home, but have incorporated contemporary art and photography into the mix.  I also love the playroom and family photos displayed behind the breakfast table.  Now only if some magazine would feature her mother's townhouse again.  Bon Weekend!
